gambling

gambling game that originated in Mumbai, the business capital of India. This game flourished from 1970’s to 1990’s under the control of Ratan Khatri. Matka is also referred by the name Satta. Mr. Khatri is popularly known as the “Matka King”. He created the biggest gambling craze in India. In a game of Matka people wager a bet on the random numbers drawn. The original version of the game was played by wagering on closing /opening prices of wholesale cotton traded on Bombay Cotton Exchange in Siwri. This was the only method for betting on figures for many years.
